So the team is going from a very "green" message, with Sky's Ocean Rescue and rain forest projects, to being sponsored by a huge plastic manufacturer with interests in fracking
Previously, people hated them for their boring racing style and the whiff of scandal from jiffygate and Froome's inhaler. Now the environmental activists are going to be protesting on the roadside too

I wonder if Ineos plastic is used in the manufacture of Jiffy Bags or inhalers

I guess anywhere that money is involved (and needed), compromises are made.

Jim Ratcliffe is no saint, however, is he any worse than the Murdochs?
I have seen comments on other forums/web sites which say that they can not support the former team Sky/Team Ineos anymore, due to Jim Ratcliffe's views on Brexit and relocation to Monaco to avoid tax..... however, this is hugely hypocritical as you can level exactly the same charges and worse at the Murdochs.
In terms of environmental implications and concerns, not all chemical and plastics companies are bad, in fact many clothing companies are as bad, if not worse than chemical companies. However, by taking over the team and creating Team Ineos, there will be a greater level of public scrutiny on a company who are not terribly well known today, maybe this level of publicity will put pressure on Ineos to be even more environmentally aware
Finally, Jim Ratcliffe has a passion for the sport, he is a passionate cyclist and former Ironman Triathlete. And I am guessing that he shares many of the same values as us.
On balance I think I would be happier to support Team Ineos then Team Sky..... although the issue of one team dominating the sport has not yet been addressed

I think there is a whole world of bias going on. In the words of youth 'haters gonna' hate'.
Lots of team sponsors have been far far worse than Ineos and no one has really batted an eyelid, let alone lifted finger to keyboard.

but this is a great opportunity to double down - unethical and unethical in cahoots - it is a virtual signalling dream...
